Care and Service


Projects completed the first half in 2021 from Care and Service Committee/ 200th Anniversary Team that was donated to various charitable organizations.

January:   Fruit donations for PIN: Over 200 pounds of fresh fruit was collected and donated to PIN sponsored by 200 Anniversary Committee.

February:  Undie Sunday for Common Ground Freestore:  We collected 248 packages. which came up to 835 underwear, 234 pairs of socks, 24 pajamas, 15 t-shirts, 4 thermal underwear. 

March:  Wernle:  $2,184.00 collected and donated to this organization that cares for troubled youth.

April:  ELCA Good Gifts: Our focus was Fruit trees and honeybees.  $901.00 was collected which purchased 101 Fruit trees and 37 hives of bees.

May:  Data bus passes for Family Promise:  $1595.00 collected to help families during their difficult times.

June:  Sanitation Kits for Turning Point:  We put together 20 sanitation buckets containing cleaning products. Other items donated and with help of Thrivent Action Team grant. Turning Point received 230 items. These help those individuals moving to new living spaces when they leave Turning Point. Additional $385.00 was donated by congregation members and given to Turning Point. 

With another Thrivent Action Team grant, we also gave 12 Sanitation Kits to Lutheran Memorial Camp which contained gloves, spray bottle, hand sanitizer, gallon size freezer bags. 

Other items donated to Lutheran Memorial Camp included: Craft items from church with the help of Dale Barringer and Jean DeWalt. 

July:  We are currently collecting items for Personal Care Kits for LWR: Bath towel, comb, toothbrush, nail clippers, and bath bars of soap. 

Projects planned for the remainder of the year are: August- blanket Sunday LWR & Women’s City Club; September – health care kits LWR; October – Crop Walk; November – Thanksgiving bag dinners;           December – Adopt A Child PIN

In addition, helped Second Fridays at Andrew’s House in February and April.  Family Promise served by both St. Mark’s and All Shepherd’s in May and again July. 

Louis Iverson is Apostle Builds Coordinator for our church for Habitat for Humanity. Will be working together with All Shepherd’s on this activity.
